2 tbsp. | vegetable or grapeseed oil |
kosher salt | |
freshly ground black pepper | |
1/2 cup | cornstarch |
2 tbsp. | gochujang |
2 tbsp. | honey |
2 tbsp. | brown sugar |
1 tbsp. | ketchup |
1 tbsp. | tamari |
1 tbsp. | toasted sesame oil |
2 | cloves garlic, minced |
1/2 | pieces fresh ginger, peeled and grated |

Lime wedges, for serving |
Step 1 |
In a large bowl, coat chicken wings with oil and season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with cornstarch and toss until wings are well coated. |

Coat basket of air fryer with nonstick cooking spray. Arrange chicken in single layer without crowding (may need to work in batches depending on size of air fryer). Air fry at 400° for 15 minutes. Flip chicken and fry additional 10 minutes at 400°, until chicken is cooked through and exterior is crispy. Repeat with remaining chicken if working in batches. |
Step 3 |
While chicken cooks, combine gochujang, honey, brown sugar, ketchup, tamari, sesame oil, garlic and ginger in small saucepan over medium heat. Bring mixture to simmer, stirring occasionally. Once simmering, remove from heat to cool slightly. |
Step 4 |
Remove chicken from air fryer and toss with sauce. Transfer to serving platter and garnish with scallions and sesame seeds. Serve with lime wedges. |
